Harps Food Stores has revealed the store will be entering two new states, Louisiana and Mississippi.
The company purchased The Markets, a Gulf-region independent grocer, according to Supermarket News.
Harps, based in Springdale, is set to acquire all seven of The Markets locations in central Louisiana and southwestern Mississippi. This consists of four stores in Mississippi and three in Louisiana, which will lift Harps over the 140-store mark.
The Markets will remain under the same name and its 350+ employees will maintain their jobs. Minimal day to day changes are expected.
Harps currently operates 135 stores across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas, and employs more than 6,800 associates.
Both companies expect the deal to be finalized by the end of 2022.
