This week, city and state officials along with the Mena community gathered to celebrate the grand opening of The Green House Cottages of Homewood. The newly constructed cottages, which began welcoming residents last year, provide state-of-the-art accommodations and prioritize individualized elder care. The grand opening ceremony for the facility had been postponed until now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“On behalf of The Green House Cottages of Homewood community, we want to thank everyone who attended our long-awaited celebration,” said John Ponthie, founding member and managing director of Southern Administrative Services LLC. “This innovative approach to long-term care has proved successful in many facilities across the state.”
The project included the construction of nine Green House Cottages that each feature 12 private rooms and bathrooms. The Green House Cottage design focuses on giving dignity and choice to our elders. The highly-trained staff goes above and beyond to create an atmosphere and environment that looks, sounds and feels like home while providing 24/7 specialized care.
“The City of Mena is excited to finally celebrate the opening of The Green House Cottages of Homewood,” said Mena Mayor Seth F. Smith. “This facility is a great addition to our community and provides the highest quality of care for our loved ones.”
At The Green House Cottages, residents enjoy a more comfortable long-term care environment. The cottage-style living concept takes an overall well-being approach to health and safety for those living in a long-term care facility.
