The Little Rock Advertising & Promotion Commission on Friday named Gina Gemberling interim President and CEO of the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB).
Gretchen Hall, its current president and CEO, announced on Jan. 26 that she was resigning effective March 22 to become the new COO for travel industry advocacy group Destinations International.
Commission chairman Jim Keet said additional transition plans will be announced soon.
“In order to create a smooth transition in leadership and maximize the 60 days we have before Gretchen’s departure, we felt it was important to name an interim leader,” Keet said in a press release. “Gina was an easy and obvious choice due to her experience in the industry and the excellent job she has done in her senior leadership role at LRCVB for the past four years.”
Gemberling, a Certified Destination Management Executive, joined the LRCVB in January 2018 as Vice President of Sales and Service and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing in the fall of 2020. In this role, she oversees the creation and execution of strategies to positively position Little Rock as a destination for meetings, events and leisure travel.
