Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions and the Arkansas District Export Council will sponsor a free webinar focusing on trade opportunities available to U.S. companies with Mexico on Thursday May 12, 2022. Attendees can gain a broader understanding of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) provisions and the opportunities they create for trade with Mexico in this webinar, featuring presentations from industry experts.
The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) entered into force on July 1, 2020. The USMCA, which substituted the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), aims to be mutually beneficial for North American workers, farmers, ranchers and businesses by creating more balanced, reciprocal trade supporting high-paying jobs for Americans and grow the North American economy.
The new free trade agreement contains enhancements and modernized approaches to rules of origin, agricultural market access, intellectual property, digital trade, financial services, labor and numerous other sectors. Despite COVID 19-linked contraction in 2020, Mexico’s economy is expected to rebound and achieve moderate growth driven by external demand.
Featured expert Kenneth C. Duckworth, principal commercial officer at the U.S. Commercial Service in Mexico City, currently manages a team of trade and investment professionals focusing on helping U.S. companies enter the Mexican market as well as helping Mexican companies invest in the USA. He is a firm advocate for and counselor to U.S. businesses looking to expand their operations abroad, including market research, due diligence and the design and implementation of trade missions.
Rudy Ortiz, management consultant, Strategic Business Services, will also present. Ortiz assists companies in a wide variety of business-related areas as well as their International Business/Exporting needs and training. He is a Certified Global Business Professional as well as a U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Export and Trade Counselor and is fluent in Spanish.
The course is ideal for professionals in import/export operations, marketing/sales management and customer service, and purchasing or logistics.
The free webinar will take place from 1:30–2:30 PM Central Time on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Click here to register to attend.
