As the world becomes more interconnected, cybersecurity has increased in importance for businesses. The Forge Institute is looking to assist with a series of cybersecurity boot camps.
There will be two ACA Cybersecurity Training Bootcamps, held in fall 2020 and spring 2021. The fall program will begin on Oct. 19, while the spring program is scheduled to begin Jan. 20, 2021. Each program takes place over the course of 14 weeks with instruction taking place on Mondays, Wednesdays and alternating Fridays.
Through the boot camp, individuals will be trained to become cybersecurity analysts. The ACA Cybersecurity Training Bootcamp builds on prior knowledge of information technology and other computer-related experience, while teaching new and future topics in the cybersecurity field.
“Forge Institute is building robust capabilities to help organizations of all sizes and types better mitigate risks from these emerging and escalating threats. By offering professional development training, we are equipping Arkansans with the knowledge, skills and abilities to more effectively defend critical infrastructure against a wide range of cyber risks.” Forge Institute CEO Lee Watson said in a statement.
The boot camp program was launched last spring, and the curriculum has been refined with new instructors added, according to Scott Anderson, the executive director of Forge Institute’s ACA. “Together, these activities have enabled us to expand this unique and robust training program and support more participants across the state. As a veteran, I’m also thrilled that Forge Institute has been accepted by the US Department of Defense as an official partner of the SkillBridge program,” he said.
Participants will be taught by cybersecurity experts in 10 subject modules, learning offensive and defensive tactics, techniques and procedures that are essential in protecting computer networks from cyberattacks.
Program participants will be able to virtually access courses and interact with instructors.
