UALR Weekend MBA Program
Sonya Premeaux, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in Business
The UA Little Rock Weekend Master of Business Administration program offers courses in a blended format with classes meeting face-to-face on campus one Saturday a month and the rest conveniently delivered online. It is one of several graduate degree programs offered by the College of Business. The college is accredited by AACSB International, the premier accrediting agency of business schools worldwide.
The structure and the cost of the Weekend MBA program make getting an advanced degree possible for those who have the drive and motivation to succeed, but who have limited time and financial resources to devote to pursuing advanced education. The cost of the program, $25,000, is much lower than similarly structured all-inclusive programs, providing an excellent return on investment. The convenience of having books and course materials supplied along with meals on class days makes the program very accessible. The face-to-face class meetings provide rich discussion opportunities that are not possible in an exclusively online program, and students rave about networking and friendships developed through the team-based approach used.
“The Weekend MBA program began in January 2015, with our first cohort of students graduating in May 2017,” said Sonya Premeaux, Ph.D., associate dean for graduate studies in business.
“I think people would be surprised by the diversity of students in our program. By diversity I do not mean just race, gender or ethnicity,” she says. “Weekend MBA students come from many different disciplines and industries as well as public and private, for-profit and non-profit organizations. This diversity makes for a rich learning environment.”
