Seven Arkansas AllCare Pharmacy locations have been acquired by Express Rx.
Express Rx has grown to 30 stores and 305 employees across eight states in partnership with MHR Fund Management, a New York investment firm. As part of the AllCare Pharmacy acquisition, 85 employees have moved over to Express Rx.
“Since it was established, Express Rx has remained committed to enhancing access to high-quality healthcare services in the Heartland,” Express Rx CEO Galen Perkins said in a statement. “This acquisition will allow us to further expand offerings to customers throughout rural Arkansas.”
The company has acquired AllCare’s locations in Heber Springs (600 W. Main St.), Hope (717 S. Main St.), Hot Springs (105 Sawtooth Oak St.), Paris (508 E. Walnut St.), Pine Bluff (3006 W. 28th Ave.), Prescott (1430 W. 1st St. N.), and Trumann (329 Highway 463 N.).
Franklin McLarty, who held facilitate conversations with AllCare Pharmacy owner Percy Malone, said that the acquisition would benefit the local communities. “I strongly believe Express Rx will be an asset to these communities, both as a trusted healthcare provider and employer,” McLarty, an Express Rx advisory board member, said.
Malone, a former Arkansas state legislator, is the president and CEO of Allcare Correctional Pharmacy.
The AllCare locations will be rebranded following the close of business on Monday. Dec. 7, with Express Rx assuming control of them.
