Endeavor Northwest Arkansas has named a Walmart executive to its board of directors.
Michael Guptan, the global head of corporate development at Walmart, is joining the board of the entrepreneurship organization’s Northwest Arkansas chapter. He succeeds another Walmart executive, Ashley Hubka, the senior vice president of corporate strategy, in the role. Hubka, however, will continue to serve as an Endeavor mentor for entrepreneurs.
According to an Endeavor release, this board transition was made due to the sponsorship mission of the Walmart Foundation.
Guptan previously served as the head of corporate development and venture investments for Dell Technologies in its software, services and security divisions. He was also the chief strategy officer for DXC Technology and was a technology investment banker.
He holds an MBA from the Wharton School.
“The board and I deeply appreciate Ashley Hubka for her leadership and significant contributions over the past two years as a founding board member and look forward to Michael Guptan joining the team as we continue to accelerate the growth of companies in our region,” Endeavor Northwest Arkansas managing director Canem Arkan said in a statement.
In total, there are six members on the Endeavor Northwest Arkansas board, including Guptan. The other members include Barbara Marchini-Ellis, Carl George, Clete Brewer, Elise Mitchell and Todd Simmons.
