Less than an hour ago, Senator Elizabeth Warren suspended her presidential campaign after her performance on Super Tuesday. Warren, who was considered a front-runner last fall, failed to win any primary or caucus, including her home state of Massachusetts, which was taken by former Vice-President Joe Biden.
Warren is the latest presidential candidate to drop out of the race, following Mike Bloomberg yesterday. In the days leading up to Super Tuesday, both Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar suspended their campaigns, as well.
In Arkansas, Warren won 10 percent of the votes cast, placing her at a distant fourth-place behind Biden, who took 40.5 percent of the votes and Bernie Sanders, who won over 22.4 percent of Arkansas voters.
Warren was the most-recent presidential candidate to visit Arkansas. She held a town hall in North Little Rock last Saturday, apparently to little avail. With the formerly-vast field of 2020 Democratic candidates whittled down to Sanders, Biden and Tulsi Gabbard, it’s unknown which candidate Warren will endorse, if any.
