The Economics Arkansas board voted to appoint three new members to its Board of Directors. Nakesha Cunningham, LeAnn Helms and Dr. Brent D. Williams will begin their appointments on June 1, 2022.
Economics Arkansas is a private, non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization founded in 1962 by Dr. Arch Ford and led by Dr. Bessie B. Moore to promote economic literacy in Arkansas. Its mission is to equip Pre K-12 schools with training and resources to teach economics and personal finance.
Cunningham is a master economics teacher with Pulaski County Special School District, Helms is a master economics teacher at Manila Public Schools in northeastern Arkansas and Williams serves as the associate dean for the University of Arkansas Walton College of Business.
In addition to the new board officers, Robyn Breshears, the executive director of sales, services and support at Arvest Bank, will begin her two-year term as Board Chair and Dr. Christ Nail, the Beebe School District Superintendent, will start his one-year term as the Board President.
