Doc Washburn, the former nationally syndicated radio host at Little Rock’s KARN-FM, has entered the Arkansas governor’s race. He will challenge frontrunner Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the Republican primary this May.
Washburn announced his candidacy this week with the release of a video announcement on Youtube.
Cumulus Media, which owns KARN, terminated unvaccinated employees last fall including Washburn. Since being dropped by Cumulus, Washburn has launched a daily podcast and remained a staunch opponent of employees being forced to wear masks.
Other gubernatorial candidates include Democrats Supha Xayprasith-Mays, Chris Jones, Anthony Bland, James Russell and Jay Martin; Libertarian Ricky Dale Harrington Jr.; and independent candidate Pastor Bill Gates.
