The deadline to apply for an Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship is approaching.
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) announced that applications will be accepted through July 1.
“The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery was started with the goal of helping Arkansas students realize their higher education goals,” ASL director J. Eric Hagler said in a statement. “We have never deviated from that mission and are proud that more than 92 cents of every dollar raised through the sale of lottery tickets goes to scholarships, prizes, retailer commissions and other expenses.”
Established in 2009, the lottery scholarship program has reportedly provided more than 650,000 Academic Challenge Scholarship to Students, totaling more than $1 billion in funds.
At four-year colleges, students who receive the scholarship will receive $1,000 during their freshmen year, while second- and third-year students will receive $4,000. Senior-level students receive $5,000 per year.
Students at two-year colleges will receive $1,000 per year during their first year and $3,000 during their second year.
