In the fall of 1977, Olivia Farrell unwittingly took the first step on what would become a ceiling-shattering journey to the top of the print publication industry in Arkansas: She appeared on the cover of the nascent Arkansas Times, posed with a lit joint.
An inauspicious start perhaps for the retired Arkansas Business Publishing Group founder and media pioneer, but then again Farrell never was one for subtlety.

Delta I-Fund Receives Grant to Continue Operations Through October 2021
The Delta Innovation Fund (I-Fund) program is set to continue through October 2021 thanks to a Delta Regional Authority (DRA) grant.
Winrock International, which oversees and facilitates the Delta I-Fund program, received a $675,785 grant from the DRA to continue the business training program. The I-Fund program, which is modeled on the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps program, is designed to provide resources and assistance to potential startups in the DRA’s eight-state, 252-county service region

Trump Acquitted on Impeachment Charges, Arkansas Senators Weigh In
President Donald Trump was acquitted today in his impeachment trial on two counts. The trial has been a national flashpoint for both sides of the aisle over the course of the proceedings.
The two counts of impeachment were for alleged abuse of power and for obstruction of Congress’ investigation.

Conway Regional Receives Accreditation for Medical Residency Program
Conway Regional Health System has been accredited for its Family Medicine Residency program. The health system received its initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
The program is expected to launch its first class of residents in July 2020.

New Executive Director Named for Arkansas Heritage Sites at A-State
A new executive director for the Arkansas Heritage Sites at Arkansas State University has been named. Dr. Adam Long, who has served as the director of the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC), has been named to the role.
Long has served as Arkansas Heritage Sites’ interim director since June 2019.
