NWA Council Launches Initiative to Encourage Census Participation
An Arkansas organization kick-started a new initiative this week that is designed to bolster support for the upcoming 2020 U.S. Census.
The Northwest Arkansas Council has partnered with Tyson Foods Chief Sustainability Officer John R. Tyson and Arkansas Counts head Kara Wilkins to encourage the business community’s involvement in the census effort.

U.S. House Passes $1.4 Trillion Spending Package
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed two spending bills, amounting to $1.4 trillion, that would fund the federal government through Sept. 30, 2020. Lawmakers approved the spending package in two votes, with the first being 297-120 and the second dropping slightly to 280-138.
The first bill was a domestic funding bill while the second bill covered homeland security and military funding. Read the full story here.

Vandiver Named General Manager for UA Little Rock Public Radio
A new general manager has been named for UA Little Rock Public Radio, the home of KUAR FM 89.1 and KLRE Classical 90.5. Program director Nathan Vandiver has been appointed to the role.
As the general manager, Vandiver will oversee the development and maintenance of program policy, in addition to heading up the programming staff, selecting programming and supervising sound quality. Read the full story here.
