The number of positive coronavirus cases has risen to 62 in Arkansas.
This total, announced by Gov. Asa Hutchinson yesterday in a press conference, is an increase of 29 cases from the previous total of 33 coronavirus cases. According to Dr. Nate Smith, the total includes six children, 41 adults aged 19 to 64, and 15 individuals aged 65 and olders.
There are now a total of 20 counties that have reported positive cases after nine new counties reported infections. The previous counties that had reported infections include Cleburne, Cleveland, Desha, Faulkner, Garland, Grant Jefferson, Lincoln, Pulaski, Saline, Washington, Clark, Bradley, Craighead, Poinsett, Independence, Pope, Searcy, Van Buren, and Sevier counties.
UAMS Chancellor Dr. Cam Patterson announced that screenings are increasing for the virus. In total, UAMS has performed 4,200 screenings as of yesterday, with half of those screenings being performed on Thursday alone.
