CoorsTek is expanding in Benton, adding additional manufacturing capabilities to its existing facility.
As part of this expansion, CoorsTek is investing $9 million and will be increasing its workforce by 50 employees. CoorsTek produces technical ceramics and advanced materials for a range of industries.
“The expansion of our Benton facility is a key step in our long-term strategy for CoorsTek supporting the evolution and innovation in the defense and aerospace markets,” Jonathan Coors, co-CEO, said in a statement. “Benton has long been an important manufacturing hub for us, and the support and partnership we have experienced from both local and state governments has been a driving factor in our desire for continued investment in Arkansas.”
The engineered ceramic manufacturer previously invested $26 million to expand its aerospace and defense manufacturing. That expansion was completed in 2020.
The facility in Benton is one of 16 CoorsTek locations in the United States, including its global headquarters in Golden, Colo. The company also has locations in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Japan.
According to an Arkansas Economic Development Commission release, CoorsTek has approximately 5,000 employees worldwide.
