Conway is now the newest Arkansas city to mandate the usage of masks, by requiring individuals to wear face coverings in inside “essential” businesses.
The Conway City Council voted in favor of adopting a model ordinance permitting cities to mandate face masks. Now, face masks will be required when inside “essential” businesses. These businesses include grocery stores and medical offices.
Individuals who violate the ordinance could be fined.
The mask ordinance is set to go into effect on Monday at 8 p.m. and will run through August 4 at 9 a.m. City council members will determine whether to extend the ordinance at a later date.
