Gulfport, Miss.-based construction company Roy Anderson Corp. has received a $200 million contract to build a hotel and casino complex for Southland Gaming Casino and Hotel in West Memphis.
Southland owner Delaware North, of Buffalo, awarded the contract to Roy Anderson Corp, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation.
As part of the contract, Roy Anderson Corp. will expand Southland Gaming and Racing Park to include a new casino complex and a 20-story, 300-room hotel. The casino complex is expected to be 240,000 square feet and feature dining options (a buffet, steakhouse restaurants, food hall, coffee shop and more).
The hotel will feature 216 standard rooms, as well as 72 corner suites and 12 penthouse suites.
Construction is slated to begin immediately. The project is scheduled to be completed by January 2021.
