Brandon Haberer has been named the new president and chief executive officer for Farm Credit of Western Arkansas.
Haberer, currently executive vice president and chief operations officer for Farm Credit of Western Arkansas, is succeeding Glen Manchester, who retired on December 31. Haberer assumes his new position on February 1.
Haberer has been employed at Farm Credit for eleven years and has served as executive vice president and COO since October 2016. Prior to his current position, Haberer served as senior vice president and chief credit officer from 2008-2016. He joined Farm Credit in June 2008 as a senior business credit analyst.
“Brandon has been an integral part of the senior management team since joining Farm Credit and the board believes he has the experience, leadership and vision to guide and grow the association,” Chairman Kenny Brixey says.
A native of Ozark, Haberer earned a political science degree from the University of Central Arkansas and has participated in the NRECA Board Leadership Program. Before joining Farm Credit, he worked in commercial banking for 14 years where he gained lending, compliance, budgeting and management experience.
In addition to his work duties, Haberer is a director and past chairman of the Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative and the Adult Development Center boards. He is also a director of the Watalula Water Users Association.
As a financial cooperative, Farm Credit of Western Arkansas is owned by the 6,100 rural Arkansas members it serves across 41 western Arkansas counties. With more than 1.3 billion in assets the association has 115 employees and 23 branch office locations.
