Forbes has released another of its ubiquitous ranking lists, this time ranking the best employers by state after surveying 70,000 Americans who worked at businesses with at least 500 employees. Beyond basic considerations, such as fair pay, safe working conditions, and an inclusive culture, were issues that of increasing importance to employees in recent years, such as remote-work benefits; the male-female wage gap and workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion. Of the 1,382 employers that made it on the final list, 25 are from Arkansas, a solid showing relative to Arkansas’s population.Â
All of Arkansas’s top five best employers were either health care or education institutions. The Arkansas Children’s Hospital came in at no. 1, followed by UAMS, the Bentonville School District, St. Bernards Healthcare and Arkansas Tech university.
