Bank of America revealed recently that as a part of its commitment to responsible growth, it has given a total of $795,000 to Arkansas nonprofits this year through philanthropic grants and sponsorships to help strengthen the local economy.
Bank of America said these donations have been aimed at driving economic mobility and social progress across the state, including supporting local nonprofits such as the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Baptist Health Foundation, Salvation Army’s financial literacy program, Samaritan Community Center and recently delivered bikes to children with Arkansas Stop the Violence.
In November, Bank of America donated $25,000 to the Arkansas Foodbank through its employee booster shot incentive program. Under this program, the company donated $100 to charity for each employee who recorded their COVID-19 booster by the end of January, which totaled $10.6 million in early 2022. The campaign was relaunched this fall, donating $50 for each employee who registered a new vaccination, be it the COVID-19 vaccine, COVID-19 booster or flu shot, by November 23 to further address hunger relief in communities that Bank of America serves.
“Nonprofits are on the front lines of addressing complex societal challenges – understanding the needs and obstacles Arkansas faces while developing the solutions and services to promote economic advancement,” Heather Albright, Bank of America Arkansas president said in the announcement. “As our state’s individuals and families continue to work toward a better future, Bank of America will continue to provide capital and resources to help remove barriers to economic success and build a more sustainable community.”
