The Arkansas State University System Board of Trustees has authorized the sale of a residential property in Jonesboro formerly used as the home for the Arkansas State University (A-State) chancellor.
In a special meeting, the board voted to sell the property at 3613 Lacoste Drive in Jonesboro. According to ASU System president Chuck Welch, there had been plans to sell the home as early as September 2011 but no acceptable offer had been received.
According to Zillow, the Lacoste Drive property is a four bedroom, four-and-a-half bath home with 4,692 square-feet of space. The property is listed at $450,000 but its Zestimate pricing on the website is $429,527. The listing agent is Eric Burch of Burch & Co.
The ASU System is selling the property for $430,000 – more than its reported appraised value of $425,000.
This property was originally purchased in 2007 and was intended to be the A-State chancellor’s home. After the ASU System moved its offices to Little Rock, chancellor Kelly Damphousse assumed residence in the former ASU System president’s residence on Nettleton Avenue in Jonesboro.
