A new chief executive officer will be taking over the reins of the Arkansas Surgical Hospital in 2020.
Brian Fowler has been named the new CEO, taking over the position from Carrie Helm. Fowler assumed the role on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.
Prior to being named CEO, Fowler served as the hospital’s chief operations officer. He also previously served as the chief financial officer for the hospital.
“This is the natural progression of an effective organization,” Chairman of the Board Dr. Scott Bowen, one of Arkansas Surgical Hospital’s physician owners, said in a statement “The leadership team led by Carrie has an effective succession plan in place, and we have been working towards this transition for the last couple of years. We appreciate the leadership Carrie has provided and will continue to provide in her new role.”
Helm will continue to play a role at Arkansas Surgical Hospital, serving as Executive Advisor to the hospital’s Board of Manager. In addition, she will provide assistance to Fowler during his transition and help with strategy development.
“It has been a privilege to work with such talented surgeons, physicians, and staff,” Helm says. “The hospital has excelled in quality and outcomes year over year. The dedication Arkansas Surgical Hospital’s physicians and staff have to quality, safety, and meeting the individual needs of our patients is unmatched in healthcare today.”
