Arkansas hospitals are postponing elective, non-urgent surgeries and procedures to minimize the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Furthermore, the decision is intended to conserve medical supplies and staffing that might be needed elsewhere.
Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville is rescheduling non-urgent surgeries, procedures and diagnostic tests, effective March 21.
North Hills Surgery Center in Fayetteville is also delaying operations, effective March 20 for two weeks.
The decision for both centers will be evaluated weekly while considering the status of COVID-19, current supplies and available staff.
