The Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary is hosting the third annual ‘Race for a Healthier Tomorrow’ Saturday, April 23, with “Champion Sponsor,” Sam’s Club. The timed 5K race and family fun walk will start at the front steps of the State Capitol, wind through downtown Little Rock, pass by the campus of Arkansas Children’s Hospital and finish back at the Capitol.
The Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary is a separate, 501(c)(3) organization serving patients and families through fundraising and service projects. Founded in 1967, the Auxiliary has nearly 450 members who support the hospital through many fundraising efforts including Á la Carte, Miracle Ball, Race for a Healthier Tomorrow, the Playaway Gift Shop, the ACHiever Program and the Holiday Card Project.
All ages and fitness levels are encouraged to register to participate. Registration is $25 for adult runners (18+), $10 for youth runners (5-17), and $5 for children under age four. Proceeds from the event provide critical funds needed to support pediatric care at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Those who are unable to attend in person can sign up to participate as a virtual runner. In-person registrants for the race are required to show proof of vaccination during packet pick-up.
“The Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary has provided critical fundraising support to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for more than 50 years,” said Neal Lea, 2022 Race for a Healthier Tomorrow chair. “Now, more than ever, Arkansas Children’s needs our community’s support. We invite you to join us virtually or in-person for this great event that helps make children better today and healthier tomorrow.”
