The Arkansas Baptist College Board of Trustees has chosen Dr. Calvin McFadden, Sr. to be the institution’s next president. He began his new role on Jan. 4, 2023.
Dr. McFadden’s experience in higher education includes serving as an Academic Dean, Chief of Student Affairs, Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences and an Associate Professor at a number of institutions – including Florida A&M University, Springfield College, Smith College and Norwalk Community College. He has also served in a number of roles in the church and private sector.
President McFadden earned degrees from Bethune-Cookman University, the Interdenominational Theological Center and Florida State University. He succeeds interim President Regina Favors, who has led the institution in making innumerable critical advances during her previous and current tenures as interim president.
“Due to the incredible work of those who have come before me, the greatest challenge we face today is to consistently meet our commitment to the needs of our students and community by providing programs relevant to the futures of those we serve. As we continue to honor our mission, we will continue to have a positive impact on generations to come,” President McFadden said.
