Arkansas is set to receive the largest federal investment of any state in the nation for new flood control projects as a result of the $1 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed in Nov. 2021. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service has announced that Arkansas will receive $96 million for 19 flood control projects across the state. Nationwide, the USDA is investing $420 million in 132 infrastructure projects in 31 states.
Flooding has caused significant problems for some communities around Arkansas over the years. Projects include rehabilitating dams, flood prevention and watershed restoration.
