The American Heart Association is inviting Little Rock and its surrounding communities to North Shore Riverwalk Park on April 30 to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity during the Central Arkansas Heart Walk. The 2022 walk is led by Erin and Jeff Marcussen.
The funds raised from the Central Arkansas Heart Walk go towards research, advocacy, CPR training and to promote better health in support of the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, reducing barriers to health care access and quality.
“The past year has shown us that no matter where we are, we can come together for a common cause,” said Jeff Marcussen. “The Heart Walk is all about promoting the health and well-being of our community and supporting the AHA’s lifesaving mission.”
Marcussen lost three grandparents to heart failure/heart attacks.
“While heart disease is not completely preventable, awareness and research can help to reduce the impact this disease has for many people,” Marcussen added. “The AHA’s focus on heart disease helps to do just that, through research grants, information and events such as the Heart Walk.”
The Central Arkansas Heart Walk is presented by QualChoice Health Insurance. Chair sponsor is Nabholz Corp.
