Americans for Prosperity-Arkansas (AFP-AR) has announced today, Aug. 3, that it will be rolling back the price of gas at the Mobil Zone Mart in North Little Rock at 8701 Maumelle Blvd this coming Tuesday. From 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on Aug. 10, gas at this location will cost $2.38 per gallon, the average price of gas in Jan. of 2021. The AFP is a libertarian-conservative political advocacy group funded by the Koch brothers.
The event is part of a campaign by the AFP called “The True Cost of Washington,” meant to highlight the effects of government spending while providing solutions to make everyday life more affordable. Inflation and sky-high gas prices are expected to cost the average American an extra $5200 to maintain the same standard of living as last year and $1,433, according to the AFP’s announcement.
A poll sponsored by the AFP reported that 75% of Americans say that increased prices have affected their consumer behavior, 62% blame President Biden for these price increases and 82% agree with tackling the federal debt and getting the budget under control.
