The 2021 Arkansas Rural Development Conference is now open for registration.
Hosted by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC)’s Division of Rural Services, this conference will focus on programs and services the AEDC offers that can impact rural communities, from development and planning to revitalization efforts. During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to learn about broadband plans and grants in Arkansas, the American Rescue Plan resources, federal grant resources, cybersecurity, minority and women-owned small business resources and startup resources.
According to the AEDC, more than 600 local leaders, including mayors, legislators, federal officials and more, typically attend the conference.
“We look forward to bringing communities together at the Rural Development Conference each year,” Arkansas Secretary of Commerce Mike Preston said in a statement. “After the cancellation of last year’s conference due to COVID concerns, we are especially excited to continue the tradition once again this fall. I encourage our community leaders to join us on October 19-21 for the opportunity to learn, network, and share best practices as we work together to ultimately improve the economy across the state.”
The conference will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19 through Thursday, Oct. 21 at the Red Wolf Convention Center and Embassy Suites in Jonesboro.
